Collina means “little hill” in Italian

Collina, from the team behind Seven Hills, offers a menu of handmade pastas and other rustic Italian favorites in San Francisco's Nob Hill.

Explore Collina

Collina, little sister to nearby Italian restaurant Seven Hills, is a cozy neighborhood gem in San Francisco’s Nob Hill, serving handmade pasta and vibrant seasonal dishes in a welcoming environment. Our restaurant’s warm interior provides the perfect setting to enjoy a comforting meal while watching the city’s iconic cable cars trundle by.

Our menu, developed with approachability in mind, is perfect for both weeknight dinners and special occasions. Executive Chef Anthony Florian and Chef de Cuisine Dennis Díaz make regular trips to the farmers market so that they can spotlight the best of the season. Their culinary program, paired with an inviting wine list spotlighting lesser-known varietals from Italy, has made our restaurant a favorite among locals.

The Collina Story

Dennis Diaz:

Dennis’s interest in cooking sparked at a young age, ultimately drawing him to pursue culinary education in San Francisco, before gaining experience at Scala’s Bistro, Cotogna, Pizza Antica, and the kitchen at Twitter HQ. His dedication to creating memorable dining experiences led him to Seven Hills, where he quickly advanced from sous chef to chef de cuisine. Now, he's excited to bring his vision to life at Collina, which serves a menu of handmade pastas and other Italian favorites to diners in San Francisco’s Nob Hill.

Tony Florian:

Tony’s earliest memories are steeped in the scents and flavors of Italy. For as long as he can remember, making tortellini and ravioli was a cherished family tradition, woven into every holiday celebration. Chef Tony graduated from the California Culinary Academy in 2005, and spent nearly a year cooking at high-end restaurants in Italy, first at Da Gigetto, and then at Casa Brusada. Upon his return, he spent a few years cooking at beloved wine country restaurants Dry Creek Kitchen and Santi. In 2010, he returned to San Francisco, working in several fine dining establishments, including Quince, where Chef Michael Tusk’s meticulous attention to detail and knowledge of seasonal ingredients transformed his approach to cooking. Chef Tony has been the executive chef at Seven Hills since 2013 and at Collina since its opening in 2023.
